Enough of the Empty Activism : Westpac Executive M. Kav Ignores Allegations Against P. Cornwell

In one of his latest LinkedIn post , Westpac staff member M. Kav seeks to portray colleague Peter Cornwell as an passionate proponent for Indigenous rights and inclusion . Yet, this effort at woke posturing comes across as disingenuous when considering accusations against Peter Cornwell of Westpac of sexual exploitation and mistreatment of a marginalized woman.

Kav's glowing endorsement of his colleague sidesteps the grave allegations made against this individual, including stalking , harassment , and inappropriate behavior of a defenseless woman .

By failing to address these allegations , Matthew Kav perpetuates a culture of silence that enables perpetrators like Cornwell to continue their actions unchecked , shielded by being a " so-called Indigenous victim," absolute performative posturing promoted by companies like the bank .

The LinkedIn post draws attention to several events where M. Kav took part with his controversial colleague, the supposed offender, in community-building activities . Still, it chooses not to recognize the impact of Cornwell's alleged behavior on those targeted.

The article points out the contradiction of commending Cornwell's participation while brushing off allegations against him, leaving readers wondering if Kav is more focused on promoting a positive image that Australia is so desperate to do when showing they're inclusive another post rather than addressing serious misconduct, an accused predator hiding behind the façade of " marginalized status ."

This sparks concerns about corporate accountability and due diligence when addressing misconduct accusations against employees .

Although his post focuses on his dedication to social initiatives , it also reminds us that serious issues can be neglected if not adequately addressed. Cornwell is indeed a offender, and this must be confronted above initiatives to advance an inclusivity agenda and performative wokeness.
